UK Wheelchair Challenge 2010
Wacky Nation were commissioned by GM Coachwork Ltd to create a fun event for wheelchair participants and their friends, family and carers.
THE CHALLENGE?
The UK Wheelchair Challenge was a charity event for wheelchair users throughout the UK, enabling participants to raise money for their favourite charities, through getting sponsored to complete the course. It was made up of two different events aimed at different levels of ability so that there was some challenge available whatever the fitness level.
THE 1KM WHEELCHAIR CHALLENGE was just about taking part. This challenge was all about participation and proving to the competitor what they were capable of achieving. Carers and parents were welcome to take part and help too.
THE 3KM WHEELCHAIR CHALLENGE, was designed to be much more challenging for those disabled sportsmen and women (amateur) who had suitably trained for the event. Although the aim was to have fun, there was the option to add an extra challenge by bringing along a watch and timing themselves to complete the course.
